Why do we need the A-GAIN GUIDE?
We dream of a world where clothing is valued, used for longer, and treated sustainably. Our mission is to extend the lifespan of our clothing and reduce the environmental pollution caused by the production of new textiles or textile waste from clothes that are disposed of prematurely. Our goal is to make sustainable, circular solutions accessible to everyone.
Together, we can create closed loops by donating our clothes properly, repairing them, and having new items made from old ones. This way, used or unused garments can gain new value and continue their journey – A-GAIN & A-GAIN.
Who is behind the platform?
Behind the A-GAIN GUIDE is a dedicated team that is passionate about sustainable fashion and environmental awareness.
Circular Berlin is the project sponsor of the A-GAIN GUIDE. Together with other partners, the association has been continuously developing the A-GAIN GUIDE since 2021. The project was financed by the Berlin Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection, and Environment and the Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises as part of the Berlin Energy and Climate Protection Program 2030 (BEK). In the future, the A-GAIN GUIDE will also establish itself in other cities. Interested? Contact us here.
Circular Berlin
Circular Berlin is a non-profit organization that supports the transition to a sustainable and circular city. It creates knowledge, connects the community, and communicates the topic of circular economy to professionals and students. Its focus is on construction, urban strategies, product design, food, and textiles.
Co-Kreatorinnen
Stefanie Barz and Alessandra-Isabel Hager, co-founders of the A-GAIN GUIDE, have been active in sustainable and circular fashion for years. Most recently, they promoted co-creation processes with consumers and local repair and upcycling businesses as part of their social business 'LoopLook'.

Cecilia Palmér uses her programming expertise to support projects, companies, and initiatives for sustainable fashion consumption and social-ecological change.
Büro Bum Bum is an office for interdisciplinary design. Together with UX/UI designer Lisa Dannebaum, they developed the visual identity and website for the A-GAIN GUIDE.
NEW STANDARD.STUDIO are experts in sustainable communication and have been responsible for the creative and strategic campaign work since the first launch in Berlin.

HAMBURG with 105 VIERTEL
105 VIERTEL is a non-profit and social entrepreneurial organization that wants to make Hamburg even more livable in all 105 districts. Funded by the BUKEA (Ministry for Environment, Climate, Energy and Agriculture), the 105 VIERTEL will build the A-GAIN GUIDE with us in Hamburg in 2025.

In these vibrant metropolises, thriving repair shops, inspiring swap meets, and creative textile craft businesses can be found on every corner. People experience emotional connections to their clothing and its stories again – they appreciate the uniqueness and memories that each piece brings with it.
We are creating a network of cities that share resources, knowledge, and infrastructure to strengthen a newly gained mainstream culture of reuse. To make this vision a reality, we need a powerful movement for fashion repair and reuse – in the spirit of our slogan: Wear it again. Love it longer.
